Reno firm offering alternate local phone service to Carson businesses

Advanced TelCom Group Inc. has begun offering a variety of high-tech services including Internet, extended reach DSL and local and long-distance telephone to Carson City businesses.

The company invested more than $10 million to establish its downtown Reno office at 200 South Virginia St. in January 2000.

"We're a local phone company in every sense of the word. When customers call, they'll speak to someone in Reno who can arrive in Carson City within minutes if needed. We're local sales and customer service representatives delivering personal service to local businesses," said ATG General Manager Mike Callahan.

A privately held Santa Rosa, Calif., company, ATG is a rapidly growing, facilities-based Integrated Communications Provider (ICP) that focuses on under-served, middle-sized markets across the United States, according to Callahan. Reno was ATG's fourth mid-sized West Coast city, behind Santa Rosa, Salem, Ore., and Tacoma, Wash.

ATG offers businesses, including those that are home-based, local and long-distance phone service and other high-tech telecommunications packages.
