Secretary of State Dean Heller invited Nevadans to test their elections IQ by completing the "State of the Vote Trivia Challenge." The 25 question, multiple-choice quiz is available at the Secretary of State's Web site at http://sos.state.nv.us.

"I encourage the state's residents to accept this trivia challenge," said Heller. "It's a fun way to test your knowledge of elections and voting. It also reminds us of the important role elections have played in our nation's history and in our daily lives."

The "State of the Vote Trivia Challenge" covers a wide range of election-related topics, including election law and history, the Electoral College and state-specific election facts. While some questions are seemingly obvious, others may leave test-takers truly surprised.

"This is not your typical civics exam," Heller said. "Nearly everyone will learn something new."

The quiz was developed by the National Association of Secretaries of State as part of the organization's efforts to reconnect young Americans to the electoral process. It is one of several initiatives designed by NASS to improve voter turnout rates across the nation.

Answers to the quiz will be posted on the Secretary of State's Web site on Nov. 8, the day following the general election. Quiz-takers may also request answers prior to Election Day by sending an e-mail message to infooff@govmail.state.nv.us.
