The Carson boys basketball got the shot it wanted to win at the end of the game. It was just that Amador Valley made the play it needed to preserve the victory.
The Senators (6-2) fell to host Amador Valley in its tournament in California 68-67 Wednesday in California.
Carson was able to take the shot it wanted off of an inbounds play at the end, but Amador Valley blocked the shot to preserve the win.
"We had a chance to win it at the end," Carson Coach Bruce Barnes said. "We got the shot that we wanted.
"We got a very good shot on the last shot. We couldn't have gotten a better shot. They guy made a good play and blocked it."
Vinnie Reymus scored 25 points for Carson while Cody Longero had 18 points and Ryan Buttner added 14 points.
Barnes said his team didn't rebound that well and also had mental breakdowns at times, which ultimately proved to be the difference.
"We had a couple of mental breakdowns," Barnes said. "We had some breakdowns we need to work on."
