The victim of a Tuesday afternoon stabbing was released in good condition from a Reno hospital Wednesday.
David Ortiz-Monroy suffered wounds to the head, shoulder and chest, authorities said.
Suspect Leon Arrellano-Pacheco, 47, was being held on a charge of attempted murder in lieu of $75,000 bail.
According to witness reports, Arrellano-Pacheco and the victim got into an argument at 3:20 p.m. at an apartment at 1247 Woodside Drive when Arrellano-Pacheco allegedly pulled a pocket knife from his pocket and stabbed Ortiz-Monroy.
The victim reportedly yelled for help and Arrellano-Pacheco fled to a neighboring apartment.
When police arrived, Ortiz-Monroy had been taken by private vehicle to Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was immediately taken to Washoe Medical Center by CareFlight helicopter with cut and stab wounds that were not life threatening.
Officers were directed by a woman to a neighboring apartment that Arrellano-Pacheco had entered without her consent, reports state. She gave deputies the keys, they entered the apartment with guns drawn and found Arrellano-Pacheco in a rear bedroom. He was arrested without incident.
Arrellano-Pacheco's residence was listed in reports as No. 242, 1277 Woodside Drive.
The stabbing occurred at No. 141 1247 Woodside Drive, and Arrellano-Pacheco was arrested two doors down at No. 143.
When deputies surveyed the apartment where the stabbing occurred, a large amount of blood was found. Blood smears were found on two cars and an apartment door.
The cause of the dispute is still unknown, investigators said.
Ortiz-Monroy will likely be arrested on four outstanding warrants for suspicion of assault stemming from investigations that started in 1999, said Chief Sheriff's Deputy Scott Burau.
