Supervisor Frank Sharp hopes the fourth time and a $250 reward is the charm for one of his campaign signs.
Sharp said vandals have attacked one of his signs at 3307 Silver Sage three times.
The first sign, which was put up with the permission of the property owner, was torn off, Sharp said Saturday.
"The second one they slashed with a razor and tried to burn," he said. "The third one they went into the property owner's yard and took down."
Sharp said he did not know what the fate of his third sign was because the owner called him to say it was gone.
"Whoever is doing this doesn't respect other people's property," Sharp said. "What really concerns me is that this guy had a razor. What if the property owner had come out while he was tearing up the sign?"
Sharp is not only putting up a $250 reward for the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for destroying his sign on Silver Sage, he is also offering $250 for the arrest and conviction of anyone caught vandalizing anybody else's political signs.
Sharp said the owner of the property called 911 and reported the destruction of the third sign to the Carson City Sheriff's Department.
"We didn't on the first two but did on the third one because they entered his yard," he said.
Anyone with information should contact the sheriff's department or call Sharp at 884-3851.
Sharp is running against Verne Horton and Richard S. Staub for Ward 4 supervisor. The primary election is Sept. 5. The general election is on Nov. 7.
