Trophy rainbows at Lake Alpine

Bob Anderson, executive director for the Alpine County Chamber of Commerce, has announced that Alpine County will be stocking a special plant of 1,000 pounds of trophy rainbow trout for this weekend.

They will be planted in Lake Alpine, which lies along Calif. S.R. 4, just past the summit at Ebbettt's Pass. The lake is about 50 miles south of Carson City via U.S. 395, Nevada S.R. 88 and Calif. S.R.'s 88 and 4.

Those rainbow trout will weigh 1-6 pounds each.
