The University of Nevada, Reno will hold its ninth annual Winter Commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. today in Lawlor Events Center. This is the final commencement ceremony over which University President Joe Crowley will preside.
The graduate procession assembles at 9 a.m., the processional begins at 9:20 a.m. and University President Crowley's final address to graduates begins at 10 a.m.
Crowley is stepping down as president Dec. 31 after serving as the campus' highest-ranking official for more than 22 years.
University officials expect nearly 1,100 degree candidates will be eligible to participate in the two-hour ceremony. Winter commencement includes students who have or will have fulfilled graduation requirements in August and December 2000.
