The Nevada 2000-2001 hunting seasons for chukar, Hungarian partridge, four species of quail (California, Gambel's, scaled and mountain ) and three species of rabbit (cottontail, pygmy, white-tailed and jackrabbit) will open on Saturday.
Seasons and bag limits are:
- Chukar: Closes on Jan. 31. Open statewide. Six daily, and 12 in possession.
- Hungarian partridge: Closes on Jan. 31. Open statewide: six daily and 12 in possession.
- California, Gambel's and scaled quail: Closes on Jan. 31. Open in Elko, Eureka, Lander and White Pine Counties with limits of 5 daily and 10 in possession.
- California, Gambel's and scaled quail: Closes on Jan. 31. Open in all other counties with limits of 10 daily and 20 in possession.
- Mountain Quail: Closes on Jan. 31. Open statewide. Two daily and four in possession.
Note: hunters are requested to contact the Nevada Division of Wildlife in Reno at 688-1529 to report their mountain quail harvest.
- Rabbit (cottontail, pygmy, white-tailed and jackrabbit): Closes on Feb. 28. Open statewide. 10 daily and 20 in possession.
