Gasoline prices in Nevada rose 3 cents a gallon over the past month, the same as the national average gas prices, according to AAA Nevada.
But the price of gas in Carson City rose only 2 cents to $1.41, the car club's monthly survey showed Tuesday.
The average gas price in Reno is high at $1.49, but that is down a penny from November, according to AAA spokesman Paul Moreno. Las Vegas gas prices rose a nickel to $1.47, he said. Those prices contributed to the state's average price of $1.46.
The national average is $1.31, while the average price in Northern California is $1.44, Moreno said.
Moreno said crude oil prices, still up sharply from a year ago, have fluctuated widely in recent weeks. While Organization of Petroleum Exporting Country members and some other producers have cut their production, Iraq has announced it will resume exports.
