The Alzheimer's Association of Northern Nevada with the Alzheimer's Support Group of the Carson City Senior Citizens Center will present Debra W. Fredericks, M.S., RN.C., assistant clinical professor with the University of Nevada's School of Medicine, Alzheimer's Disease Diagnostic and Treatment Center from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday May 17 at the Carson Senior Center.
Fredericks will speak on "Coping with Difficult Behaviors in Alzheimer's Patients."
Fredericks was appointed to the Research Faculty, UNR Psychology Department in 1997 where she directed research study and supervised graduate student assistants.
In 1998 she became coordinator of the UNR School of Medicine's Alzheimer's Disease Diagnostic and Treatment Center, where she manages the operation of the clinic, conducting initial evaluations and administering neuropsychological screening tests. She provides counseling and education to families.
There will be a question-and-answer period following the presentation.
All caregivers, families and friends of Alzheimer's and dementia patients and healthcare professionals are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.
