Arts in Education grants available

The Arts in Education program is offering grants to encourage development of interest in the arts in settings from the classroom to performances.

Grants are available for classroom teachers who want to incorporate the arts into their teaching.

The Arts in Education program provides artist in residence grants, special project grants to schools and organizations and professional development grants for teachers.

Deadlines for those grant applications are available from the Nevada Arts Council. Call Laura Rawlings at 687-6680.

"We are here to provide technical assistance, either in project development or grant writing tips, to ensure that all Nevadans participate in lifelong learning in the arts," she said.
