The Nevada Division of Wildlife is sponsoring an effort to collect native plant seed to assist in the rehabilitation of fire-ravaged wildlife habitat throughout the state.
This collection effort will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday and will continue on Saturdays throughout October and November with the exception of holidays. This effort will allow the citizens of Nevada to participate in a direct effort to help wildfire affected by the severe fire season.
Participants will meet at the Nevada Division of Wildlife Headquarters, 1100 Valley Road, Reno. Some transportation is available for participants.
Since lunch will be provided on work days, participants should call Kim Toulouse, 688-1893. Bring drinking water, sunblock, hats and gloves. Participants should wear long pants, long-sleeved shirts, comfortable hiking boots and plan on being out in the brush for up to six hours.
