Brief: high school reduced tuition

Western Nevada Community College is offering high school students a jump on their college career at a reduced tuition rate of $25 through the Fast Track program. Evening interactive video or Internet classes are offered in courses as varied as accounting, anatomy, chemistry, education, English, geography and history.

A complete list of the classes and locations is available in WNCC's spring schedule. The distance education classes are transmitted by interactive video among the WNCC locations in Carson City, Minden, Fernley, Hawthorne, Lovelock, Smith Valley and Yerington. Adults may also enroll in the classes at the normal tuition rate.

Spring semester classes start January 24. An orientation to distance education classes will be transmitted to the various WNCC locations via interactive video on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m.

Registration is continuing for the spring semester at WNCC through Touch-Tone Telephone (887-3130) or the Internet at www.wncc.nevada.edu. New students, including high school students wishing to take Fast Track classes, must pay a $5 application fee. After submitting the application, students are generally able to register for classes within 24 hours.
