Brief: Pau-Wa-Lu has open house

An open house will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School, 701 Long Valley Road, Gardnerville, to discuss rehabilitation plans for the Dresslerville Pit Area.

There is a need to reclaim inactive areas near the mineral pit to reduce dust, erosion, and noxious weed encroachment potential. The area is used by motorcyclists, hikers and joggers from the nearby Gardnerville Ranchos. It is also an important source of common variety mineral materials for the Douglas County Road Department and private business users.
