"Hi-Bear-Nate with a Good Book" is the theme of the winter reading program running from January to April 15 at the Douglas County Public Library. Children off-track and on-track are welcome to participate as well as preschoolers and home-schoolers.
Children must read one hour a day for 16 days or any combination of time to accumulate 16 hours.
For prereaders there is a Read-to-Me program. Children are read to for 20 to 30 minutes, then they color a teddy bear. When 20 bears are colored in they will receive a bookmark, prize from the treasure chest, McDonald's certificate and a paperback book.
