George W. Bush, Republican presidential candidate and governor of Texas, will attend a fund-raiser Thursday at Glenbrook on Lake Tahoe's east shore.
The luncheon will be hosted by Gov. Kenny Guinn.
"A policy announcement will be made, dealing with land conservation," said Jack Finn, Gov. Guinn's press secretary.
The luncheon will start at noon at The Old Barn at Shakespeare Ranch, the residence of Larry and Camille Ruvo.
Ruvo is the owner of Southern Wine & Spirits and a major political contributor in Nevada.
Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt and U.S. Rep. Jim Gibbons are on the honorary host committee.
Gibbons will be attending the event, according to Robert Uithoven, a spokesman for his office.
The luncheon cost is $1,000 per person, or $2,000 per couple, and business attire is required.
An environmental club is planning a peaceful demonstration.
The demonstration is protesting Bush's campaign and his environmental record.
The demonstrators plan to gather between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. outside the gates of Glenbrook, between Cave Rock and Spooner Summit on the lake side of Highway 50.
