Carson Country Basketball

F - Cody Longero, 6-3, junior, Carson: A first-team all-conference and all-division, Longero played in each of the Senators' 28 games (one of only three players to do so), led the team in scoring with a 15.0 average and was second in rebounds with 164 (5.9 average).

F - Mike Atkinson, 6-4, senior, Galena: A three-year varsity veteran and team captain this season, Atkinson was an all-around standout who led the Grizzlies in rebounds (5.3) and assists (3.1) and was second in scoring (12.1). He earned first-team all-conference and all-division recognition.

C - Lee Biddlecome, 6-9, senior, Carson: The Bradley University-bound Biddlecome pulled down a team-high 172 rebounds (7.2 average), was the second leading scorer with a 14.75 point average and was second in assists with 76. He was a second-team all-division selection.

G - Seth Lee, 6-3, junior, Douglas: Lee came up big in his second season as a starter. Led the Tigers in scoring, highlighted by a 31-point effort against Fallon, plus he earned second-team all-conference and first-team all-division recognition.

G - Joe Heaton, 6-3, sophomore, Galena: In his first varsity season, Heaton earned first-team all-division and second-team all-conference honors. The wing man averaged 13.3 points and was the team's top 3-point threat (47) and third in assists.

4A girls

F - Whitney Williams, 6-0, senior, Galena: A three-year varsity veteran, Williams was named first-team all-conference and all-division this season for the Division I and state champion Grizzlies. The versatile Williams, who could play inside or out, averaged 10 points and five rebounds, not to mention her defense and ability to run the floor.

WIng - Kellie Burton, 6-1, junior, Galena: Was the offensive leader for the Grizzlies during their 29-6 state championship season. Burton averaged just over 13 points and eight rebounds per game and was named first-team all-conference and all-division.

C - Pam Williams, 5-11, senior, Carson: Co-Player of the Year for the Northern 4A and Division II, Williams was a always a force to reckon with just because of her sheer hustle and desire. Williams was the Senators' leading rebounder (No. 2 on the school's all-time career list) and second leading scorer. A four-year starter at Carson.

POINT GUARD

Wing - Alyson Thurman, 6-0, senior, Carson: Also a four-year starter, Thurman finished as the Senators' all-time career scoring leader with 1,706 points. She was a first-team all-conference and all-division selection for the 29-7 Senators.

PG - Andrea Honer, 5-8, sophomore, Douglas: Honer, a second-team all-division pick in her second varsity season, was the Tigers' designated point guard but she was more than that. She averaged 7.2 points, led the team in 3-point goals and assists, was third in rebounding, was a leading defender and rarely came off the floor for the Tigers.

Honorable mention: Janelle Mack, senior, Galena; Joanna Hixon, freshman, Galena; Meghan Gradert, junior, Carson; Lauren Myers, senior, Douglas; Kim Smith, senior, Douglas; Stephanie Combes, senior, Douglas; Kirsten Drury, senior, Galena; Amanda Twitchell, senior, Galena.

3A boys

F - Ben Chisum, 6-3, senior, Fernley: A first-team All-Division I pick, Chisum averaged 12 points and nine rebounds. He increased those averages with some performances in the last three weeks - he had 16 points and 12 rebounds in the Vaqueros' 3A state tournament-clinching double overtime win against Spring Creek.

F - Matt Farler, 6-3, senior, Yerington: Farler used his all-around ability to garner the Lions' team MVP award and second-team all-division recognition. Was the team's leading scorer with an 11.52 season average, plus he led the team in rebounds (123) and steals (38) and was second behind Michael Keats in assists (20).

C - Josh Goss, 6-3, junior, Dayton: First-team All-Division II, was an inside and outside threat who averaged 20.9 points for the 14-14 Dust Devils this season. Goss led the team in scoring - highlighted by his last-second 3-pointer that lifted Dayton to its playoff-clinching win over Yerington - and in rebounding (9.0).

G - Tyler Selden, 6-0, junior, Fernley: Spent time at forward and guard this season, Selden earned second-team all-division recognition during a season in which he led the Vaqueros in scoring with a 17-point average.

G - Adam Sayre, 6-0, senior, Dayton: Like his cousin, Matt Farler, Sayre was an all-around player who was the Dust Devils' team MVP and a second-team all-division pick. Sayre led Dayton in assists and was second in rebounding from his point guard spot. He averaged 7.7 points per game.

Honorable mention: Anthony Martinez, 5-9, senior, Dayton; Joe Reeder, senior, Fernley; Josh Allen, junior, Yerington; Michael Keats, senior, Yerington; Zach Roots, junior, Yerington; Bobby Nylen, junior, Dayton.

3A girls

F - Letitia Talbot, 5-9, senior, Yerington: The four-year varsity veteran averaged 18.4 points, nine rebounds and five assists while leading the 22-8 Lions to second place in Division II and a berth in the state tournament semifinals against Moapa Valley.

F - Natalia Gonzales, 5-8, senior, Fernley: Not the tallest post player around, Gonzales compensated with knowledge and skill to average 14 points and seven rebounds this season for the 13-13 Vaqueros. She was an all-division selection.

C - Jennifer Dillie, 5-10, senior, Dayton: Four-year starter for the Dust Devils probably our all-time 1,399 career points (1,000 last two years), averaged 18 points this season and was the leading rebounder. Team captain and first-team all-division.

G - Brandee Smith, sophomore, Yerington: Smith emerged as a definite threat from the 3-point arc as she earned first-team all-division honors for the Lions. Smith averaged 16 points and shot 51-for-168 from 3-point range during the season.

G - Kim Dunn, 5-8, senior, Fernley: A natural point guard, Dunn's 12 points and six assists per game, not to mention court awareness and ball handling skills, helped propel the Vaqueros to a Division I co-championship and berth in the 3A state tournament.

Honorable mention: Amy Sceirine, junior, Yerington; Kendall Castellani, junior, Yerington; Cayla Reese, junior, Dayton; Jeanette Macall, senior, Dayton; Dena Wagner, senior, Fernley.
