Carson man pleads in August stabbing

A 19-year-old Carson City man pleaded guilty in District Court on Monday to an August stabbing.

Joseph T. Warhol admitted to Judge Michael Griffin that he assaulted James C. Chessor, 23, with a knife when a "slap-fighting" incident escalated at a residence near the 2600 block of Blossom View Lane.

Warhol was sentenced to a suspended sentence of 18 to 60 months in prison and five years probation. He was given 61 days credit for time served in jail.
