National Children's Memorial Day, a day when people around the world are asked to light a candle, "that their light may shine," in honor and remembrance of all children who have died is Sunday.

On Nov. 5, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed SR 118 designating June 14 by Senator Harry Reid, and co-sponsored by 59 other senators.

This Sunday, the Reno branch of Northern Nevada Chapter of The Compassionate Friends is presenting a special remembrance ceremony at Bartley Ranch Park Interpretation Center, located at 6000 Bartley Ranch Road, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Call 853-1691 for information.
