A brush fire, apparently started by a shooter at the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range, burned about 10 acres on Friday.
No property damage was reported and no structures were burned, according to fire officials, who responded to the East Carson City location with three engines.
The fire began at around 7 p.m. Friday and was under control within 45 minutes, said Capt. Ed Young of the Carson City Fire Department. Cool temperatures and no wind attributed to firefighters success at thwarting the ability of the fire to spread, Young said.
