LAKE TAHOE - North Shore: Mickey Daniels of Mickey's Big Mack Charters at Carnelian Bay said that his clients have been catching easy limits of average sized Mackinaw trout, up to 6-7 pounds. He has been fishing 250-450 feet of water, very early in the morning, in front of the Carnelian Bay-King's Beach area. They have been trolling with Herring Dodger flasher blades with pearl-colored Apex lures or live minnows. He reported that on Monday, Dennis Yeskie of Carson City caught his limit while on the Big Mack II. Another angler thought that he had a trophy-sized "Mack." However, it was a regular sized Mackinaw that had been hooked in the side and was released.

LAKE TAHOE - South Shore: No report.

TOPAZ LAKE: Linda Fields of the Topaz Lake Marina reported, "A fly fisherman caught an 8.6 pound German brown trout on a Woolly Bugger fly. He was fishing at "High Point," which is the highest point on the highway near the south end of the lake.

Trollers have been limiting out on 1-1.5 pound rainbows in the middle of the lake. They have been trolling 10 feet deep with bright-colored Needlefish lures.

Shore fishing continues to be slow. with some success with Power Bait."

WALKER LAKE: Bob Tompkins of the Gun and Tackle Store in Hawthorne said, "The fishing has slowed way down. Nothing seems to be working right now. Three of us fished all day yesterday and only hooked one cutthroat. Paul White of Reno caught that fish and then lost it while reeling in his line. That trout hit a fire tiger Flatfish lure. We been seeing lots of big fish on our fish finder. They are lurking around the schools of the Tui Chub and don't seem to be interested in anything that we troll."

WILDHORSE RESERVOIR: Dennis Dunn of the Wildhorse Resort reported, "Our ice is about 20 inches thick and we've got about 10 inches of snow on the ground. The other night it got down to -15 degrees and our daytime temperatures have been getting up into the high 30's."

He said that the ice fishermen were still catching "bucket fulls" of perch. There is no limit on perch at the reservoir.

One group of three anglers from Reno also left with full limits of rainbow trout, up to 21 inches.

The perch and the trout are being caught on combinations of worms with corn or worms with Power Bait.

On March 11-12, the Wildhorse Resort will host its annual perch fishing derby with prizes for those anglers catching the most poundage of perch.
