BLUE LAKES (UPPER AND LOWER):


Upper Blue Lake: No report.


Lower Blue Lake: No report.


BOCA RESERVOIR: No report.


BRIDGEPORT RESERVOIR: Andrew Sears of Ken's Sporting Goods Store reported, "Has been pretty good for boats still-fishing with nightcrawlers or Power Bait. They have been catching rainbows, up to 6 pounds. The weather is getting warm, the water is beginning to bloom and the trollers are having to frequently check their flashers."


CAPLES LAKE: No report.


CARSON RIVERS (EAST AND WEST) IN CALIF.:


East Carson River: No report.


West Carson River: No report.


CONVICT LAKE AND CONVICT CREEK:


Convict Lake: The largest trout was a 5.99 pound rainbow taken on a frog Needlefish lure in the middle of the lake. The next largest were a 5.63 pounder on a green Trout Teaser lure and a 5.50 pounder on a nightcrawler and Power Bait, both caught on the north shore.


Convict Creek: The largest trout was a 2.04 rainbow taken on a gold Panther-Martin lure.


CROWLEY LAKE: Lots of Alper's Trophy Rainbow Trout. Best action with lime twist, rainbow or Captain America Power Bait. Best areas are Life Guard Point, Crooked Creek and Alligator Point.


DAVIS LAKE: No report.


EAGLE LAKE: No report.


FRENCHMAN RESERVOIR: No report.


HEENAN LAKE: Closed until the Friday before Labor Day.


HOBART RESERVOIR: No report.


INDIAN CREEK RESERVOIR: Dave Kirby of the Woodfords General Store gave this weekly report, "Excellent fishing over the weekend for the Kids' Day Fishing Derby. Lots of trout were caught. Over 2,000 pounds of rainbows were planted for the derby. Indian Creek should be excellent fishing this week.


JUNE LAKE LOOP (GRANT-GULL-JUNE-SILVER LAKES-RUSH CREEK): Ernie's Tackle Store at June Lake reported, "The best fishing is currently at Gull Lake and June Lake. The garlic worms are doing good but boy, do they ever stink like crazy. The best lures have been Thomas Buoyant and jointed Rapala lures."


Grant Lake: Trolling Rapala or Needlefish lures in the mornings has been producing lots of fish.


Gull Lake: Good fishing with sherbet Power Bait or red salmon eggs.


June Lake: Lots of limits. A.M. has been the most productive.


Silver Lake: Lots of limits, using Power Bait from shore.


Rush Creek: Mepps spinners or Trout Teasers.


KIRMAN (CARMEN) LAKE: No report.


LAHONTAN RESERVOIR: No report.


LUNDY LAKE: No report.


MAMMOTH LAKES AREA:


George Lake: A 6-pounder on a rainbow Rapala lure.


Mamie Lake: Good fishing with inflated nightcrawlers or sherbet Power Bait.


Mary Lake: Trout Teasers from a boat or flat tube were knocking them dead near the Marina.


Twin Lakes: Gold Kastmaster or red/gold Thomas Buoyant lures were working very well.


Mammoth Creek: Recently stocked. Best with red salmon eggs or Panther-Martin lures.


MARKLEEVILLE CREEK: No report.


NORTH POND: No report.


OWENS RIVER:


Benton Crossing (Up): Very good for No. 16, bead-head Nymphs.


Benton Crossing (Down): Small Super Duper lures were working the best.

RED LAKE: Limits and near limits of brook and cutthroat trout with inflated worms.

SOUTH-NORTH-INTAKE 2-BISHOP CREEK (WEST OF BISHOP):

STAMPEDE RESERVOIR: No report.


LAKE TAHOE - North Shore: Mickey Daniels of Mickey's Big Mack Charters reported, "We've been catching, tagging and releasing lots of average sized Mackinaw trout. We're trolling in front of the Carnelian Bay-King's Beach area. We're trolling 250-550 feet deep and using silver Herring Dodger flasher blades with either live minnows or pearl Apex lures."


LAKE TAHOE - SOUTH SHORE: Jack Martin of the Sportsmen's Sporting Goods Store at South Lake Lake said, "Not very many fishermen. Fishing is still holding up for topliners at Logan Shoals, Elk Point and in front of the golf course. They are fishing 40-60 feet deep with Rapala lures on a downrigger. They are catching rainbows in the 6-7 pound class. Mackinaw fishing is only rated as fair at this time. Some small Kokanee salmon (10 inches) are being caught, 10-50 feet deep, at Rubicon Point."


TOPAZ LAKE: Steve of the Topaz Marina checked in with this report, "Some limits were being caught. The best action has been on the south end for boats still-fishing with bait or trolling with silver flashers and worms. They have been catching rainbows, up to about 3-pounds."


LOWER TWIN LAKE: Dan Beltran of the Lower Twin Lake Resort said, "


UPPER TWIN LAKE: Jim Wilkins reported, "We are gearing up for a fishing derby on June 22-July 6. First prize in both the senior and junior divisions will be a 9-foot Fenwick graphite fly rod and an Abel reel. Limits are currently being taken with rainbow Power Bait or Super Duper, Rapala or Thomas Buoyant lures. The two largest fish last week were 5-pounds, 8 ounce rainbows."


VIRGINIA LAKES AND VIRGINIA CREEK:


Virginia Lakes: No report.


Virginia Creek: No report.


WALKER LAKE: Bob Tompkins of the Walker Lake Guide Services said, "The weather is warming up and the fishing is slowing down. We caught three cutthroat in two hours. Two of them were on Sepps Dodgers with a 2-foot leader and a side kick and the other was on a silver Flatfish lure. The trout are deep. We were trolling 35-60 feet deep.


WALKER RIVERS (EAST-WEST-LITTLE):


East Walker River (Nev.): Bob Tompkins of the Walker Lake Guide Services reported, "The "Elbow" area continues to be good for mostly planter rainbows on Panther-Martin or Roostertail lures or with nightcrawlers."


East Walker River (Calif.): Andrew Sears of Ken's Sporting Goods Store said, "It has been excellent for fly fishermen for trout up to 20 inches with Nymphs or dry flies.


West Walker River (Nev.): No report.


West Walker River (Calif.): Still high and fast. The water is clearing up and the run-off appears to be over.


Little Walker River: No report.


WEBER RESERVOIR: Bob Tompkins of the Walker Lake Guide Services said, "A new unofficial state record crappie was caught on June 4 by Paul Drujillo of Hawthorne. The crappie weighed 2-pounds, 13-ounces, had a girth of 14 inches and a length of 16 1/16 inches. It was caught with a white crappie jig."


WILDHORSE RESERVOIR: Dennis Dunn of the Wildhorse Resort said, "The weather has been cold and windy, not many fishermen, but the fishing has been excellent. Mostly rainbows and cutbows with a few German browns, up to 20 inches. The trout are being caught on worms and corn, rainbow Power Bait or green/black lures. Two channel cats, 11.7 pounds and 6.8 pounds, were caught Thursday night in shallow water (2 feet) at the inlet. They were caught on worms under a bobber."
