Four-hour trek to Scott's Lake

A 4-hour snowshoe trek is being offered to Scott's Lake on Saturday. It will be led by park rangers with the California State Park System.


Scott's Lake is just off California S.R. 88, between Pickett's Junction and the Blue Lake Turnoff.


Pickett's Junction is at the north edge of Hope Valley. It is the junction of S.R. 88 to Jackosn via Kit Carson Pass and S.R. 89 to South Lake Tahoe via Luther Pass.


The 4-mile roundtrip hike for only snowshoers. It is for the intermediate snowshoer in good condition.


It will begin at 10 a.m. at Pickett's Junction and it is free.


Participants are requested to provide their own snowshoes, wear layered clothing and bring a lunch and drinks.
