Gov. Kenny Guinn has proclaimed Friday, June 30, as Disabilities Awareness Day. Many people are under the impression that the government takes care of the disabled while others hide their disabilities and may be unaware of services they might be eligible for. These are the primary reasons for a day of reaching out.

Efforts will include celebration of Disabilities Awareness Day, exhibits at the State Library, conferences, preparing a list of related activities off-site, sale of buttons as a fund-raiser and an entry into the Nevada Day Parade.
