The Carson Valley Historical Society will present its annual Gallery of Trees Festival from Nov. 29 through Dec. 28 at the Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville.
"This event is fast becoming a Carson Valley tradition, and this year the theme is 20th Century Holidays Remembered," said Liz Paul, society spokesperson.
An individual, service club or business may enter a decorated tree in the festival. Applicants should provide an artificial tree and all the decorations. Trees will be limited to the first 25 applicants. The fee is $25, and the deadline to sign up is Nov. 17.
Visitors to the museum are invited to vote for the tree of their choice Nov. 30 to Dec. 5. On Sunday, Dec. 5, the society will hold an open house with refreshments, holiday music and a visit from Santa Claus from 11 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Awards for the winning trees will be presented at 4 p.m.
