Youngsters can take the wheel for free at Kmart this weekend and help raise funds for anti-drug education programs.
The store parking lot had been converted into a race course for the event.
The Kmart Kids Race Against Drugs returns to the Carson City store's parking lot 9 a.m.-6 p.m. today and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
For each participating child, the Kmart Family Foundation will donate $5 to local partner organizations, which for Carson City are the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
Children ages 6-12 can participate for free and representatives of educational organizations will interact with them to have them pledge to remain drug-free. Every child receives a free T-shirt, baseball cap and information about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.
