RENO, Nev. (AP) - Police have charged a man in this weekend's mobile home park killing and have charged his mother on related charges as well.
They said David Philips, 32, lived near the victim. And he had a gun similar to the murder weapon, blood on his shoes and had pawned stolen property.
Phillips already was being held at the Washoe County jail on unrelated burglary charges.
On Thursday, police said they had arrested Phillips' mother, Linda Lee, for investigation of conspiracy to possess stolen property.
Robert McCord, 46, died on Sunday of multiple gunshot wounds to the head in his Cemetery Road mobile home.
Philips lived in the same mobile home park and McCord had suspected him of previously burglarizing his trailer.
Philips faces charges of possession of stolen property stemming from an unrelated vehicle burglary in which a small caliber handgun was taken.
The caliber of the weapon used to shoot McCord matches that of the stolen handgun, although no weapon has been found, police said.
