A man walked into a Carson City Subway sandwich shop on Saturday, pulled a gun on a female employee, and demanded money.
The armed robbery, located at the Subway restaurant on 100 Winnie Street, occurred at 7:41 p.m. and as of press time, authorities were still looking for the suspect.
Two employees, a male and female, were on duty at the restaurant when the robbery occurred. Neither of the employees was hurt in the holdup and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.
"I was in the back washing dishes when it happened, but this guy came in and pulled a gun out and she gave him the money," said the male employee.
The robbery suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a slender build, short brown hair, wearing blue jeans and white T-shirt.
The suspect left the restaurant on foot and is believed to have run through several neighborhoods south of the crime scene.
"The girl in the restaurant was so scared that she didn't see which direction was he was going," said Sgt. Steve Schuette of the Carson City Sheriff's Department.
Several patrol cars were dispatched as deputies searched for the subject, and combed the neighborhoods along Bath, Winnie, and Nevada streets, as well as parking lots, and local motels along North Carson Street.
The suspect is armed and may be dangerous. Any information about the robbery should be reported to the Carson City Sheriff's Department dispatch center at 887-2007.
