FREMONT, Calif. (AP) - Police were on the lookout Sunday for a man who allegedly shot two people at a wedding reception, one fatally, and carjacked another person to make his getaway.
The man, whom detectives believe is 19-year-old Amandeep Singh, allegedly shot two people at a wedding reception at the Metropole banquet hall around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night.
Police found one male victim dead at the scene from a gunshot wound, and took another person who had been shot to Kaiser Hayward hospital.
Detectives said Singh apparently ran from the hall and carjacked a person's vehicle at a nearby Chevron station. Police found the vehicle a short time later about a quarter mile from the scene.
Police had not released the names of the victims and had not determined a motive in the crimes Sunday.
