No news was good news for law enforcement officials keeping the peace during this year's three-day Nevada Day celebration.

Despite the crunch of 20,000 visitors and 52,000 residents packed into Carson City, crime statistics for the weekend show an insignificant change relative to previous years, said Chief Sheriff's Deputy Bernie Curtis.

The department responded to 81 calls of disputes, disturbances or domestic disputes, 13 traffic accidents, five calls of shots fired, 14 traffic complaints, 11 vandalism calls, 28 juvenile-related calls and 18 calls relating to burglary, embezzlement or robbery.

Last year sheriff's deputies made 33 arrests, a statistic that was up slightly this year to 40. Of this year's arrests, 29 were misdemeanors, nine were juveniles and two were felonies.
