The Salvation Army's new thrift store will open in Carson City on April 15.
"We didn't pay a thing for it," Salvation Army Lt. John Van Cleef said. "The owner built it as a store and is going to lease it to us."
The new store's grand opening will begin at 10 a.m. It is located at 180 E. Winnie in the Crossroads Shopping Center.
The new 8,000-square-foot building will replace a prior shop that was closed in August 1996 by a small fire.
