Nominations for members of the Lake Tahoe Basin Federal Advisory Committee are being accepted by the U.S. Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, until Monday.
The secretary of agriculture established the advisory committee on July 13, 1998, chartered under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, to provide advice to the secretary of agriculture and the Federal Interagency Partnership on protection of the environmental and economic health of the Lake Tahoe Region.
The current charter expires on July 13 and is currently in the process of being renewed for two years.
Representatives on the committee will be selected from the following sectors: gaming; environmental; natural resources; ski resorts; North Shore economic and recreation interests; South Shore economic and recreation interests; resort associations; education; property rights advocates; members-at-large; science and research; local government; the Washoe Tribe; State of California; State of Nevada; Tahoe Regional Planning Agency; union/labor interests; transportation and another member-at-large.
