Obituary: Agnes Hilma Wallin Pratt

Agnes Hilma Wallin Pratt, 88, a Gardnerville resident for the past 24 years, died April 26, 2000, in Carson City. She was born July 2, 1911, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to George Gunil and Alfrida Wilhelnina Wahlund Wallin.

Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in San Francisco and Oakland, Calif.

Mrs. Pratt worked for Bank of California for about 30 years. She was a member of the local AARP and the Young at Heart Senior Citizens, and she loved her cat. She was a wonderful singer and sang for the king of Sweden in the 1930s when the king was visiting the United States.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hector in 1978.

Among her survivors are her sisters Rose Bergstrom of Gardnerville and Ruth Warpula of Roanoke, Va.; niece Karin Warpula of Roanoke and nephew Victor Bergstrom of Gardnerville; great nephews and wives Ray and Cindy Bergstrom of Wyoming and Mark and Elizabeth Bergstrom of Montana; great great-nephew Christopher and great-great niece Chelsea.

A private memorial service will be at a later date.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary, Minden, is in charge of arrangements.
