A prayer service for Agnes M. Doane, 96, a Gardnerville resident for the past eight years, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph, Mo., with the Rev. Michael Volkmer celebrant.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at the chapel. Rosary will be at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Doane died April 29, 2000, at the Nevada Health Care Center in Gardnerville. She was born Dec. 18, 1903, in Blaire, Kan., to Julian and Emma Von Arx Krapf.
She was raised in St. Joseph and attended Musser Elementary School. She later lived in California and then in St. Joseph again from 1972-90 before moving to Nevada in 1992.
Mrs. Doane was a homemaker. She worked as a seamstress with the Sun Garment Co. during the 1940s. She was a member of St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville, a past member of St. Pancratius Catholic Church in Lakewood, Calif. and a past member of Immaculate Conception and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in St. Joseph.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters.
Among her survivors are her daughter, Shirley Beaver of Minden; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Wathena, Kan.
