Obituary: Bette Lou Svensson Towne

A funeral for Bette Lou Svensson Towne, 55, a Davis, Calif. resident, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Community Church, 412 C Street in Davis.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D St., Davis.

Mrs. Towne died April 11, 2000, at Sutter Roseville Neuro/Trauma Center. She was born May 5, 1944, in Albany, Calif.

She was raised in Carson City.

Mrs. Towne was a homemaker. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and selling items on the Internet. She also loved to hunt, fish and go clamming at the ocean. She was a member of the Davis Women's Golf Club.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sture Svensson.

Among her survivors are her husband of 16 years, Thomas of Davis; mother, Bette Svensson of Carson City; daughter, Shaela Wolfe, granddaughter, Chelsea and grandson, Trevor, all of Reno; twin sister, Sonja Kellogg and husband David of Oroville; sister, Karen Penelli and husband Rick of Reno; brother, Bruce Svensson and wife Betsy of Carson City and brother, Stuart Svensson and wife Sharon of San Jose, Calif.; stepson, Thomas Towne Jr.; stepdaughter, Brooke Towne Maranda and husband, Sam; grandson, Ellis Towne Maranda, and Will Towne and wife Sally, of Sacramento, Calif.

Burial will be at the Davis Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the California Waterfowl Association, the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the Hanna Boys Center of Sonoma, Calif.

Davis Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
