A funeral service for Donald Howard Judd, 71, a Carson Valley resident since about the age of 8, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Chapel of Gardnerville.
Mr. Judd died Jan. 28, 2000, at his home in Gardnerville. He was born Nov. 12, 1928, in Helena, Mont., to Frank Judd and Olga May.
Before moving to Carson Valley, he lived as a child in Montana, Idaho and Elko County.
Mr. Judd worked in the dairy industry for 20 before taking on building maintenance supervisor duties for Douglas County until retiring in 1988. He was a life member of the Carson Valley Lions Club.
Mr. Judd enlisted in the Marine Corps in November 1949 and was discharged in 1953 after a tour of combat duty in Korea.
Among his survivors are his wife, Florence Rokowski Judd; five sons, Donald, David, Daniel, Dwight and Dana Judd, all of Gardnerville; sisters, Carol Harris of Casa Grande, Ariz., Rosolyn Heath of Pueblo, Colo. and Ilene Judd of Gardnerville; a brother, Alfred Judd of Gardnerville; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. Burial will be at Garden Cemetery in Gardnerville.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
