A memorial service for Dorothy Mildred Esser, 94, a Carson City resident for the past 17 years, will be at 10 a.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Esser died April 16, 2000, at Carson Health Care. She was born March 2, 1906, in Moberly, Mo., to William Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Burton Miller.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Glenbrook from 1970-83 and in Reno from 1944-70.
Mrs. Esser was a homemaker. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Martha Chapter, in Sparks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Maute Esser in 1988.
Among her survivors are her daughters, Caroline Dade of Salem, Ore. and Elizabeth Lowe of Carson City; grandchildren, Susanne Sage of Haily, Ind., Jennifer McMartin of Carson City and Karen Truxal of Bellevue, Idaho and six great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Audubon Society.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
