Earvin Hammons, 74, a Wellington resident for the past 27 years, died Dec. 9, 1999, at her residence. He was born April 1, 1925, in Inez, Ky., to Roscoe and Vashtie Hammons.
Before moving to Wellington, he lived in Forest Grove, Ore.
Mr. Hammons was a supervisor, laying pipe in the construction business. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling in his RV, sports - football, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Walker, of Morgan Hill, Calif., in 1995.
Among his survivors are his wife, Edith, of Wellington; sons, Monte, of Crescent City, Calif., and Terry, of Willard, Ohio; daughters, Linda Miller, of Gardnerville, Doris Tappen, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Donna Pellissier, of Albany, Ore.; brother, Randolph of Inez; sisters, Mary Hammons, of Inez and Lynn Bancroft, of Norwalk Ohio; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 35 great-great grandchildren.
Private inurnment will be held.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
