Obituary: Gilda "Sue" Barnes

Gilda "Sue" J. Barnes, 70, a Carson City resident for the past 36 years, died May 29, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Barnes was born Oct. 13, 1929, in Port Arthur, Texas to William Arthur Gray and Ann E. Brizzle. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Prior to living in Carson City she resided in Yerington. Mrs. Barnes was a homemaker.

She loved the outdoors, camping and fishing.

Among her survivors are her husband Thomas of Carson City; daughters Katherine Sullivan of Las Vegas and Linda Heater of Dayton; brothers Gilbert Gray of Melbourn, Fla., and Carl Carlton of Tucson, Ariz.

Cremation is under the direction of FitzHenry's Crematory.

The family requests donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice or plant a tree in memory of Gilda "Sue" Barnes.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
