Obituary: Grace B. Works

A funeral for Grace B. Works, 77, a Carson City resident for the past 28 years, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.

Mrs. Works died June 15, 2000 at her residence. She was born Oct. 23, 1922 in Tymouth Township, Mich. to John C. Bockoven and Harriet Vroegindewey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger D. Works in 1988 in Carson City, two brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Works attended Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill., and graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., with a bachelor of arts degree in 1946.

Prior to living in Carson City she resided in Fort Defiance, Ariz.

Mrs. Works was a homemaker. She enjoyed her family, gardening and traveling with her husband.

Among her survivors are her sons, Roger D. Works Jr. and Greg D. Works, both of Carson City and John F. Works of Houston; daughter Marybeth Wolta of Dayton; sister Claudia DuBuisson of New Haven, Conn.; brother John C. Bockoven of El Paso, Texas, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery after the funeral.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
