John Arthur Flanders, 68, a Carson City resident for the past 50 years, died Oct. 31, 1999, at his residence. He was born Feb. 9, 1931, in Colorado, to Frank Arthur and Alice Grace Blundell Flanders.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Winnemucca.
Mr. Flanders was the owner of a motorcycle and boat repair and sales company. He was a member of the Rotary Club, 20-30 Club, Skee-bees and the Junior Chamber of Commerce.
He was a master sergeant in the U.S. Army and a member of the National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Among his survivors are his son, Frank, of Santa Maria, Calif.; daughter, Cathie Olsen, of Eugene, Ore.; sister, Evelyn Schaad, of Reno and two grandchildren.
No service is scheduled.
Cremation will be at Truckee Meadows Crematory.
Reno Memorial Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
