A Mass for John T. Davies, 77, a Reno resident for the past six months, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the U.S. Marine Base Chapel in Pickel Meadows, Bridgeport, Calif.
Mr. Davies died Nov. 14, 1999, at the VA Hospital. He was born Jan. 3, 1922, in Scranton, Pa., to Emlyn and Margaret Thomas Davies.
Before moving to Reno, he lived in Coleville, Calif., coming from the San Francisco Bay Area.
Mr. Davies was a retired security specialist, working for the U.S. government in the Defense Contracts Department. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and AmVets.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
Among his survivors are his wife, Myrt, of Reno; daughter, Carole Harris, of Fremont, Calif.; son, John, of Mt. View, Calif.; daughter, Pat Taylor, of Oakland, Calif.; three grandchildren and brothers and sisters residing in the eastern United States.
Cremation will be at Truckee Meadows Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VA Hospital Volunteer Services General Fund.
