John William Shea, 85, a Carson City resident since 1973, died Feb. 6, 2000, at Carson Health Care. He was born Aug. 21, 1914, in Utica, Oneida City, N.Y., to William Patrick Shea and Marie Ida Greer.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Sierra Madre, Calif., for 22 years.
Mr. Shea was an electrical engineer in the aircraft industry. He was a Catholic. He enjoyed working with his hands and made clocks and enjoyed woodworking. He was an avid reader.
He was preceded in death by his son Michael in 1960 and sister Betty Hall.
Among his survivors are his wife of 65 years, Harriet, of Carson City; daughter Kathleen Molzen, of Sierra Madre; sister Mary Louise Dolan of Elmira, N.Y.; one grandson and one great-grandson.
No service is scheduled.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 1931 Sutro, Reno.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery, is in charge of arrangements.
