A memorial Mass for Lillian Maffei, 73, a Carson City resident for the past 22 years, will be at 3 p.m. today at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
Mrs. Maffei died Oct. 2, at Carson Healthcare Center. She was born Sept. 3, 1926, in Cairo, Egypt, to Bruno and Anna Benevolenza Terkaly.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Sonoma, Calif.
Mrs. Maffei was a former employee of the Carson City Nugget and provided child care. She had been a blackjack dealer at various casinos at Lake Tahoe for 27 years. She loved to cook and tend to her garden. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was proud of her Italian heritage.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, in 1987.
Among her survivors are her son, Paul, of Carson City; daughters, Nicki Campbell of Lake Tahoe and Jan Chandler of Carson City; a brother, Joseph Terkaly, of Corte Madera, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
