Obituary: Malcolm Douglas Ridley

A funeral service for Malcolm Douglas Ridley, 79, a Carson City resident for the past eight years, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Rose Hills Memorial Chapel in Whittier, Calif.

Mr. Ridley died Dec. 2, 1999, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born March 14, 1920, in Birmingham, England, to William A. and Dora Green Ridley.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Lake Forest, Calif.

Mr. Ridley was a retired systems analyst in the computer industry. He was active in the Senior Citizen Center in Carson City. He enjoyed spending time with friends at the Carson Station Casino. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family in Southern California.

He served in the Royal Air Force during World War II in the European and North African Theatre as a gunnery instructor.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Ridley, in 1984, in Downey, Calif.

Among his survivors are his son, Malcolm, of Ontario, Calif.; daughters, Denise Cash, of Incline Village and Carol Ridley, of Lake Forrest, Calif. and four grandchildren.

Burial will be at Rose Hills Cemetery.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
