Obituary: margaret J. Morse

Margaret J. Morse, 82, a Carson City resident from 1964 to 1979 died in Little Rock, Arkansas, from heart failure following a brief illness.

Born in Little Rock, she graduated from Little Rock Central High School and attended Hendrix College in Conway, Ark., and Goucher College in Baltimore.

She married Charles Edward Morse in 1947, and, with a growing number of children, they lived in Ola and Fayetteville, Ark., San Francisco and Carson City.

Mrs. Morse was a lifelong Episcopalian, and during her residence in Carson City was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. She was active in the Episcopal Church Women, often serving as president. She returned to Little Rock in 1979.

She was preceded in death by her husband in Carson City in 1968 and a daugher, Charlotte Elaine Morse, in 1995.

Among her survivors are a sister, Georgia Lee Boyce of Monterey, Calif., six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and five of her six children; Jeannie Crouch of Vista, Calif., Sansa Ann Morse of Tucson, Ariz.; Margaret Morse Ellithorpe of Seattle, Wash.; Georgia Morse Nelson of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and Charles E. Morse Jr., of Reno.

A memorial service was held at Christ Episcopal Church in Little Rock, of which Mrs. Morse was a member for half her life; it was her first parish and her last.

Burial was at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City, beside her husband.
