Marie Smith, 70, a Silver Springs resident since 1995 and former Mark Twain resident, died Feb. 6, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Fresno, Calif., to Gerald and Ida Davis Lowry.
Mrs. Smith worked in casinos. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and knitting and loved gardening.
Among her survivors are her husband Stanley of Silver Springs; mother Ida Davis Lowry of Carson City; son Tom Alexander of Florence, Mont.; daughter Sandra Daniel of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
No service is scheduled.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery, is in charge of arrangements.
