Marvin Ellis Jones, 71, of Carson City died Thursday May 11, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Jones was born Dec. 28, 1928, in North Platt, Neb., to Herschel L. and Ella Chevera Jones.
Owner and operator of Jones Auto Transport., Mr. Jones had lived the past 17 years in Carson City, where he enjoyed spending time at the senior citizens center.
He was preceded in death by his wife Judith in 1991.
Survivors include sons Larry Jones of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Herschel of Carson City; daughters Pennee Anderson of Naperville, Ill.; Diane Jones of Denver, Colo., and Debby Downey of Carson City; brothers William Jones of Denver, Lawrence Jones of the Tri-City area in Washington and Melvin Jones of Jackson, Calif., and sisters Esther Turgin of South Dakota; Mabel Milo of Canyon City, Colo.; Viola Lundgrem and Dorothy Potts of Ceres, Calif.; Rosie Sharpe of Denver and Alice MacArther of Salinas, Calif.
Visitation is scheduled Monday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City. A memorial service will at at 4 p.m. Monday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Carson City. Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements and cremation will be by Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.
