Melvin Harold Seidel Sr., 71, a Carson City resident for the past three years, died Dec. 4, 1999, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born June 21, 1928, in Burn Township, Pa., to Ralph and Dorothy Kemmerer Seidel.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Wyoming.
Mr. Seidel was a miner for five years at a uranium plant for United Nuclear Co. in Wyoming.
Among his survivors are his wife, E. Louise, of Carson City; sons, Melvin Jr., and Arthur, both of Glenrock, Wyo.; stepsons, Robert Dierolf Jr., of Reading, Pa., and Eric Dierolf, of Fort Eustis, Va.; daughters, Karen R. Huston of La Grande, Ore., Susan Schappell, of Reading, Pa., and Dorothy Seidel, of Carson City; stepdaughters, Lisa Gonsalves, of Reading, Cheryl Martinez, of Fleetwood, Pa., and Stacy Beshore, of Reading; stepbrother, Robert Kantner, of Reading; brothers, Kermit, of Reading, Elwood of Leesport, Pa., Russell, of Fleetwood, Richard, of Reading, and Gerald, of Laureldale, Pa.; sisters, Mildred Papich, of Reading, Gladys Smith, of Douglassville, Pa., Shirley Donton, of Mohnton, Pa., and Jeanette Meister, of Jacksonwald, Pa.; and 17 grandchildren.
Services will be at a later time.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery, is in charge of arrangements.
