Robert Elmer Cartt, 83, a Carson City resident for the past 20 years, died May 1, 2000, at his home. He was born April 11, 1917, in Goshen, Calif., to Elmer and Julia Esther Pawley Cartt.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Roseville, Calif.
He graduated from Dinuba High School in the San Joaquin Valley.
Mr. Cartt was a train dispatcher and worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 27 years. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
He was a member of the Masons, a past member of the Lions Club and founder and past president of Acton Community Club in California. He was a Presbyterian. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force.
He was preceded in death by son, Jerry in 1978 and wife, Maryellen in 1992.
Among his survivors are his daughter, Sherrill R. Mann of Durham, N.C.; brothers, Tom of Dana Pont, Calif. and Donald of Sacramento and one granddaughter.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.
Burial will be at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery, is in charge of arrangements.
